Bluefishing: The Art of Making Things Happen
Bluefishing, by Steve D. Sims is an absurdly motivational book, written by a man whose company makes its money by making seemingly unreasonable requests come true. His job is to make the impossible possible.
The company is called Bluefish, and they’re who you call if you want to sing on stage with Journey, eat dinner in front of Michelangelo’s David, connect with Elon Musk, get married at the Vatican, or visit the undersea wreckage of the Titanic.
Besides the fact that Steve used to a nightclub bouncer just like me(!), I tore through this book and received a ton of inspiration to get out there and make big things happen.
He teaches that “there is a password for every door,” a weak spot in every wall in front of us, and if we would only stop selling ourselves short and start taking massive action, we might just be able to make that wall come down.
Below is a collection of my best notes that I’ve taken from Bluefishing, but with very little additional commentary from me. You can find the rest of my notes from this book here, and my list of best/favorite books here.
