Business is Hard Enough (Don’t Do It Without Friends)
Yeah, “your network is your net worth,” but it goes so much deeper than that
Having friends — a support network — in business is so clutch when it comes to making everything work.
A few months ago I joined an online business accelerator (called Write Your Way to $5K), and for two whole months I had at least an hour a day of discussions and virtual meetups with a bunch of creators doing $20k, $30k, some of them $50k/month and more in their businesses.
It was wild.
I learned something beneficial from all of them, and there were definitely a few guest presenters I had never heard of.
But there’s also something I found interesting.
It’s that 9 out of the 20 or so creators teaching these accelerator masterclasses were either friends of mine, new acquaintances, people I’ve met and bounced ideas off of before…
These were all people I knew, liked chatting with, enjoyed hanging out with…they were there for me when business got hard, when certain income streams dipped below what they had been in previous months, etc.
It just struck me how much easier and more fun business can be when you don’t have to go it alone. As they say, the road is never long to a friend’s house, and I would add…
