Did You Enjoy Reading The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers? Try These 3 Books!
In vintage Mister Rogers style, I’m going to give you way more than you asked for today. I recently wrote a 6,600-word book breakdown of The Good Neighbor, complete with a Summary, 10 Key Ideas, etc., and here in this article I have 3 related books to tell you about that I think you might enjoy.
But I’m also going to include some of my favorite book notes from The Good Neighbor (I take detailed notes on everything I read), as well as 2 “criticisms” of Fred Rogers that you may wish to keep in mind as well. I put criticisms in quotes because, as usual, there are several ways to look at almost anything.
So here are 17 of my favorite passages/quotes from the book, and below these are the related books and criticisms. The first 3 passages from the book are pretty long, so of course, feel free to skip ahead!
But if you know and love Mister Rogers, and if you can imagine the amazingly beneficial impact he’s had on the lives of tens of millions of children all over the world over more than 50 years in television and broadcasting, you may appreciate this detailed look into his inspiring, thoughtful, and surprising life!
