How to Gain Your Personal Freedom Forever

“Through discipline comes freedom.”

-Aristotle

In just the same way as you can’t have black without white, front with back, space without solids, there’s no real freedom without discipline.

When we each wake up in the morning, we can do anything. Our lives and our futures are literally wide open, but we put ourselves in so many prisons of our own making.

We think we’re exercising our freedom but we self-sabotage, fail to see the distant implications of our actions, and reach for a false freedom that turns out to be illusory.

When you can do anything, you have to choose something for your freedom to mean anything. Freedom within limits. For example, once you choose to date one person, sure you’re giving up your freedom to have flings or other encounters with a much larger number of people, but you gain the freedom to dive deep into one relationship with one special person, opening up possibilities that would have been forever closed to you if you had simply “kept your options open.”

This isn’t dating advice I’m giving here — I just want to show you how much freedom you already possess and what you can do with it. Because the possibilities are intoxicating and surprising.
