In Order to be Sane in a Rapidly-Evolving World, You Really Do Need to Feel a Little Bit Lost Somewhere, at Least Once a Day
We think we know how to the world works, but it is so much more mysterious and complex than we could ever imagine.
It’s so easy to lose sight of this, the more we get caught up in our ego battles, our rightness, and all the things we think we know.
If only we could get “on top” of things and impose some sort of order on our sense perceptions — or really “get to the bottom of things,” if you’re trying to approach it from the other way — then maybe life would be a little more manageable.
If only it were that easy.
Factor in the pace of change, and it’s so easy to get disoriented by the whiplash of modern life, thereby dashing any hopes we had of ever making sense of our lives.
In 2019, Google revealed that more than 500 hours of content is uploaded to YouTube every single minute.
That translates to 30,000 hours per hour and 720,000 hours per day.
To put it another way, you’d need around 82 years to watch all the new content uploaded to YouTube in just a single day — and that was 3 years ago!
