This'll go more for nonfiction books, but a lot of people don't realize that book sales themselves are some of the LEAST profitable revenue streams that a book opens up for you.

I'm thinking of speaking fees, consulting clients, etc. A book can LEAD to all those and more. Way better than praying to El Bezos for a few $5 book sales.
